The word Talisay is a fruit bearing tree, scientifically known as Terminalia Catapa. The LGU-BALUD and the ABS-CBN Foundation worked together to develop this beautiful place, the “Talisay Beach Resort and Ranch Tour”, located at Purok Tambilawan, Talisay, Balud, Masbate, owned and managed by the the People’s Organization in this barangay thus it is regarded as a Community- Based Sustainable Tourism Project.


The resort has several services rendered such as Birds Watching which you will surely enjoy the flock of birds along the beach during low tide; Mangrove Walking in a 1.5 kilometers mangrove plantation habitated with the centuries old mangrove plants and their kinds; Kayaking at the Lumawig River which serve as the boundary of Mandaon and Balud, guarded by the mangrove plants which are the homes of the king fisher; Boat sailing across the long beaches of Talisay to the mangrove park; Snorkeling to both soft and hard corals. Snorkeling area is almost two to three meters deep during high tide and almost one and a half during low tide which even children will enjoy; Bay crossing and Island Hopping where you will surely enjoy the beautiful scenery of the neighboring islands such as the Kagmasuso Island, Pulo island and the Sibuyan island, the fantastic view of the ranch on the hilltop and the lovely views of sunset which lovers like most; the ranch also offered a 360 degrees panoramic viewing of the relative islands and amazing views around it and. Ranch tour is very relaxing and very conducive for meditation. You can also experience horseback riding and mountain biking from the lowest part of the ranch up to the hilltop, you will also be entertained by the different kinds of bird that passes by.

The resort can be reached both land and water travel. A one (1) hour and thirty (30) minute ride from Masbate City to Pajo then to Talisay by means of a van, bus or jeepney. Then from Poblacion, Balud to Talisay thru habal-habal or tricycle.
